Rob Savage
Rob Savage (Groove Diggerz) is the main man behind the Groove Diggerz phenomenon which is sweeping the breaks world since their debut on the scene a mere 2 years ago. Groove Diggerz are the act everyone in breaks circles are watching right now. They won the prestigous Breakthrough Producer award 2007, came 3rd in the Breakthrough DJ catagery 2007 and their record label “Breakin Even” finished second for Breakthrough Label 2007 at this year's Breakspoll. They are enjoying a meteoric rise to fame bringing their brand of electro fueled funk.
Breakbeat was a natural progression for someone who can play just about any musical instrument put in his hands. Spending four years as the drummer in “Metro” he enjoyed success with one album and European tour before the group disbanded and he turned his attention to electronic music. Groove Diggerz then jetted off to the Canary Islands securing a long DJ residency. This is where he acquired his production skills from Dutch producer Nils Pot. Being a drummer by trade the drums in his tracks have a uniquely warm feel and always bring the funk.
Rob Savage is also the main man behind the acclaimed breaks night 'Breakin Even'. Going five years strong it formed the foundation for his record label “Breakin Even”. His other label Even Flow has been doing just as well. The labels have featured artists including Pilch, Dogtown Clash, Manuel Neztic, Diverted, Ben and Lex and Kickflip. The labels have been highly successful in pushing the new wave of nu-skool breakbeat.
Their track “Big Bad Bruiser” hit mainstream in Australia when it was used during the summer campaign for the TV show “The OC”. Their most recent track “Live for the Weekend” went straight to the top of many DJ charts and received massive support from Radio1 and KissFM. Their production talent has not gone unnoticed by the world’s biggest Breaks label, Fingerlickin, with Groove Diggerz being asked to remix Soul of Man’s “The Drum”.
2007 Sees will see their blossoming career skyrocket. After returning from Australia they hit Spain before returning home and playing at “Chew The Fat” in London. They are booked to play at the “Beautiful Days” and the infamous “Glade” Festivals in the middle of the year before embarking on a tour around Europe, Asia and Australasia to promote their forthcoming album “Singles Vol 1”.
